Election Night 2023 Projection Mapping

Project Manager, Projectionist

We all know the election of 2020 will be discussed for decades. Due to Covid, Delaware became the hot bed of activity for the Biden Campaign.  The clients were looking for a bid to project on the building just prior to the election and for the election night results. As part of Light Action, I put together a package that couldn't be beat. This was one of a few things I had cooking at the Chase Center on the Riverfront that week, but it was my favorite. Funny thing was every night they'd say not tonight, see you tomorrow.  We were blessed with great weather all week so not a bad thing. Thanks to Oleg, Erik, Ude and Roger for their muscle getting it done.

Soroptimist International in Tapei

Graphics and Show Caller

Soroptimist International has always been a busy event with PowerPoint decks easily in triple digits. Working with an international crew was a great experience, after working out some language challenges we broke the cues to letters and numbers, which translated well. Additional show production has involved performances, panel discussions, and high profile guest speakers. These ladies often discussed tough topics relating to the trafficking women and girls that left the crew aghast with the stories they heard. But there were celebrations too as the group reached its centennial anniversary.   Thank you Soroptimist for opportunities in Taiwan, Japan, Canada and of course Hawaii.

Professional Boxing @ The Chase Center, Wilmington DE

Project Management / Design

Feldman Promotions chose the Chase Center to host a comeback match featuring Roy Jones. As the venue's in-house provider the design was created for the venue, lighting & sound. Television production was also on the agenda.. It was fun to think about boxing again reliving some of my HBO/Showtime experience. Working with director Ira Stephen Glass and producer Brian Ricco of Multivision, we pulled in a local truck from WPVI. Terry Bedford provided the crew and tech to get us on the air. The broadcast was seen around the globe with a fighter and singing performer from Uzbekistan, warming up for the Roy Jones match. A special thanks to my buddy Ryan Ward for perfect lighting that night.

Arena Projection Mapping

Design / Build /Maintain

This is one of the largest profile projects I have been a part of at Light Action. The system consists of 18 UDX 4K32 Barco's driven by 6 Christie Pandora servers and Mystique auto convergence.  Additional technical support comes from our good friend Sam at TCI. The system has some great elements including a tracking system that can animate projection following the Zambone as well as well over 4K of effective resolution.  Applied Electronics made special cages maximize efficiency and Barco supplied tons of support to get the system going. Thanks to Scott Humphrey, Anthony Gioia, Collin, the folks at WFC and Local 8 for all their support.

Trinity Episcopal Covid 2020

Streaming and Engineering

As the world spun down during the lockdown of 2020, one of the few things happening was Worship. I reached out with my local Pastor at Trinity Episcopal and began to assemble the ingredients to do Zoom and then webcasts. Zoom seemed to be a critical element for worship as it allowed some of the participation of in-person to continue with readings and such. Using OBS and then Vmix, I was able to help them spread the word. Basically I learned a whole new way to do what took satellites and fiber connections just a few years earlier. Subsequently, I designed and deployed 7 systems to churches of various faiths to help them through the challenges. Thanks Ted for getting this started!

Medical Meetings and Webcasts

Broadcast & Event Engineering

Medical Meetings happen every year in the name of continuing education. 80 South reached out for guidance and engineering  to make the zoom meetings look better and appear more professional for their client Mediasphere Medical. Vmix hit its own just in time. With NDI and the live compositing power exceeding most hardware swithers, all it took was a vision to put it together. Having been familiar with medical meetings since early in my career it was a great fit. Its fun to see these projects from a modern perspective, my first medical show was multimage slides. Thanks Dom, Alex, Andrew(s) and Warren for the medical facet of my career.
